Please contact Oregon’s federal delegation and encourage them to take action to oppose post-fire clearcutting on federal land! It is up to our elected officials to work with the new administration to protect sensitive burned landscapes. Send a letter to your federal representative and ask them not to allow Oregon’s beloved fire-burned forests to be sold off to timber companies.
Right now, over 10,000 acres of public forests that burned in this season’s wildfires are at risk for clearcut logging, including beloved forests along the iconic McKenzie and North Umpqua Rivers.
Federal lands are strongholds for mature and old growth forests, sanctuaries for wildlife, purifiers for our drinking water, places for adventure, and natural solutions for combating climate change. We cannot let our national treasures be sacrificed to revenue-driven post-fire logging.
